Nuun Sigma Sport London Race Team
I started working with Will in October 2016 having just completed my first full season of road racing and recently signed for Nuun Sigma Sport London Race Team. Coming from a background of rugby and boxing I felt I had a reasonable knowledge of nutrition but struggled in understanding how to effectively manage it for competing in a more endurance focused sport. The balance of fuelling adequately whilst seeking to improve my power to weight ratio proved challenging. My first objective, and primary motivation for working with Will, was to lose weight in the off season whilst maintaining my power. Will’s impact was immediate; his provision of structure and education, with clear, achievable targets changed the way I managed my nutrition. I was able to drop kilos whilst still hitting my training sessions and targeted power outputs with my cycling coach. In 10 weeks I lost 8kgs whilst improving my 20 minute threshold power by 3%. My focus with Will then switched to fuelling strategies for the race season. Will’s guidance and education has allowed me to head into races prepared and with more confidence putting me in a better position to get results. The regular catch ups with Will and daily targets remove any nutritional concerns or ambiguity over what to eat, leaving me to focus on the racing itself. I have had more energy at key parts in races and also been able to recover more effectively. Will has been proactive in addressing my nutritional concerns, and we have worked closely to tailor strategies to my specific needs. This has included plans for training camps, consecutive days of racing, and the various different types of races I compete in (criteriums, road races, time trials).
World Ironman Competitor
My husband and I started working with Will back in September in a bid to see the impact that proper nutritional advice could have on our training and racing. Having started triathlon in 2014, and starting to take it more seriously in 2015, last year I was at a transitional point looking to go from middle distance to iron distance this year. However I had had quite a few instances of suffering from stomach cramps on the run, or lacking energy in the second half of the run, and so I was hopeful that working with a nutritionist could help this, having already tried various elimination diets. Working with Will has made a huge difference to the way I fuel training and racing – before I wouldn’t carb load due to nervousness around stomach issues, and was not taking on a huge amount of nutrition during races. The first race I had after starting with Will was Hever castle gauntlet, which post 3 weeks of chilling out in Australia a good nutrition strategy meant I felt great throughout the race and had one of my strongest runs. This year I have done a lot of practice of nutrition in the run up to racing, with the real test being my first ironman (can maybe add in some comments post the race!!). Overall I feel like Will has helped me fuel much more effectively to deliver better results.

In the time I have been working with Will, I have seen nothing but good results and progress. From having the stress and pressure of trying to work out what, how much, and when I need to be eating being taken away, to eliminating problems I was having on the bike whilst training which prior to working with Will, I didn’t realise could be food related. As a professional cyclist, my power to weight ratio is crucial. With will I have managed to lower my weight whilst keeping power the same and therefore perform at a higher level, without having to crash diet or go hungry!
