December (Seasonal Food)

GWARRR!! I can’t believe it’s December already and it’s time to get our Christmas jig on!! I’m sure most of you love this month with the ever increasing feeling of the festivities that just make you feel so warm and cosy inside and the thoughts of that special day spent with the family and all that gorgeous food! The air filled with the aromas of mulled wine, spices like cinnamon and nutmeg!! KOOOWIEEE!!! I do love it!! Isn’t it weird as well that just driving around at this time of the year and going past those houses all lit up and looking pretty, really lifts you slightly and just makes you smile! Or I could just be alone on that department lol!

“The Yule cake dotted thick wi plumbs,
Is on each supper table found”

As always leaving you with a gorgeous little extract from a poem I like that represents each month! But anyway moving on with whats truly good this month!

December is probably one o the only months of the year that we as a country all eat truly seasonally and indulge in the foods that are best at this time!!! December has been celebrated throughout history though even by non- Christians as it has the winter solstice on the 21-22 of December, marking the point where the days will start to get longer again!!

There are two things at there BEST this month that I truly love the first being Turkey!! As you might of guessed with all the best turkeys being bred, and fattened specifically for Christmas! –
