Cubano Sandwich
First one in a little while as I’ve been focussing on my upcoming competition which I’m sure I will be posting some videos up of soon, BUT anyway this one is an absolute CRACKER!!
I was thoroughly inspired after re-watching one of my favourite films “Chef” with great tasting sandwiches I instantly thought “I need that in my life” so I went and replicated this visual love, this food I knew would be EPIC and it is!
SO, so easy to make the only thing you might need is a Panini press or something similar I reckon a George Foreman would work if you’re really stuck!
What I really wanted to say is that the general population might think this is a “bad, unhealthy fattening” meal but it’s not it’s moderate in calories but I used organic and free range ingredients making it a micronutrient dense meal that’s packing a flavour BOMB!

INGREDIENTS
Ingredients;
- Ciabatta bread
- 2 type of thin cut quality ham
- Swiss cheese or cheese of choice
- Mustard
- Gherkins
- ½ onion
- Butter

HEAT Panini press
FRY onion till golden and caramelised
LIGHTLY fry slices of ham
SLICE Ciabatta bread in half SPREAD mustard

CHOP gherkins lengthways

FILL with ham, cheese, onions and sliced gherkins to finish
BASTE with butter on top
COVER the bottom of the press with butter
PRESS your sandwich between and cook till golden and crispy

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I can’t actually explain how good this tastes!! Words were created to describe feelings, though this makes dictionaries explode! This Sh*t tastes EPIC! Crispy, flavoursome bread giving way to a succulent ham and melted cheese centre that has those perfectly matched sweet & salty flavours of the gherkin and mustard! Just please go make this, take photos name your children Cubano the sandwich of all sandwiches
From Will, that guy who should probably be called “Primal Cubano” now
